Contamination issue

Sorry guys. No pics yet.

My friend called me and mentioned some black stuff he was getting off of his car after applying some wax. He said he washed it, but no clay. I assumed this might be the reason for the black rags, contamination of some sort.

Anyhow, this car is a brand new Chrysler 200S hard-top convertible, silver I believe.

He said it's pretty nasty where his wife parks it, but it seems odd that the contamination is black. Maybe not.

I need to get a look at the car, do a baggy test, and perhaps clay it and get some pictures.

I haven't seen it and my friend doesn't know. The only thing left I forgot to mention thus far is he said he was getting ready to wash his rags a second time becuase the color didn't come all the way out.

My first guess is cosmoline, even though I've never noticed it transferring black. I've not dealt with it since around 2008, and have never dealt with a brand new Mopar, so I'm really just making an educated guess at this point. If that is what it is though, clay won't help at all but the car needs it either way. I would suggest looking at it in person, and if possible post some pics.
