Contaminated my clay

I used tarminator on lower panel and did not get it completely cleaned off before claying the same panel. The clay got real sticky and hard to use, it was an old small piece so no big deal but just some advice to all.

Yup...Bug and Tar removers turn detailing clay into freshly chewed bubble gum.



I learned this while removing some concrete from a lower panel.

Hey! Don't throw that clay away!



I've heard that it can still be used for cleaning the brake dust off of wheels, for cleaning the wheel wells, and for cleaning under the hood. Haven't tried it myself yet though.

old clay = dirty but still chemically stable clay.

I've needed to use Meguires Tar Remover on my lower panels. What precautions need I take prior to using clay to ensure that the clay is not damaged by the TR e.g. turning into buble gum.

I would suggest you wash or rinse the panels you've used the Bug & Tar Remover as it may contaminate any other products you use (as well as clay) afterwards
