Concrete!!!????!!!!!

I did a car the other day that had specs of dried concrete on both lower sides :dunno of the vehicle. I was clueless. It was a first for me. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas?

While I don't know the answer for easy removal, the vinegar didn't work for me. I even soaked the spots for several minutes with a cloth dampened with vinegar and they changed color, but were no easier to remove.
I ended up scraping the concrete off with a plastic scraper.
And yes, the plastic scraper did mar the paint, but some DACP and the PC took care of that.
Concrete on your paint is not a good thing. I feel your pain.

Spray area full strength with vinegar. Then top with a peice of paper towel. This will immediately adhere to the wet area, and keep the cement saturated until it evaporates. The trick here is to not let it evaporate, respray as it dries, for up to 20 minutes. IT WILL HELP YOU. You still may need to use the fingernail, but it should be smaller. I did an ins claim this way with great success.

A last alternative is Muriatic Acid, available at home improvement stores, paint stores, and brick yards. It is most commonly used to etch concrete prior to painting.
This stuff is strong and can be dangerous.
Use it in a well ventilated area, wear rubber gloves, do not let it touch any metal. You can dab it on the cement specs with a Q-tip. This may take several applications but it will disolve the cement. Rise well after done with baking soda and water to neutralize the acid.

I had one of those this year too. Try using a plastic razor blade. Dwayne sells them at PAC. I think you get a few hundred of them for around $6.

If all else fails, try some masonry supply stores. There are a number of products that clean cement from brick that may be milder than Muriatic Acid. Ask the store for a suggestion. Dilute to a milder solution even if it takes a little more time. Also, keep the surface wet around surrounding areas to lessen potential damage. Follow procedures similar to what Kim mentioned.

That is a job I would not look forward to. Good Luck!

Thanks you guys once again DC has given me good answers to a problem I was clueless on another reason why......Here it comes....... :dcrules

0" tip on a pressure washer........

What are you goin to do if paint comes off the with the concrete when you scrape it?

I have a pressure washer, but I took a sprayer from the car wash I partly own, and use that without any tips its a 180 degree, Ive seen pinstripes come off with Walmart types. I only use a pressure washer to save water and wheelwells. Sometimes paint removal. Insurance is too high :crazy

I agree with using the plastic razor blades, i've even used a screw driver before :eek but you have to be very careful. Any minor scratches will of course buff out. I've never found an easy way.
