Concours Buffing towel VS. DF towel

Although I have not used DF Towel, I can vouch for the CBT as an awesome towel.

I use it for final wax removal and QD wiping.

It's ultra, ultra soft with just enough "bite" to remove wax and help polish the surface to a high luster. After washing and drying it still stays soft. There is zero chance of marring or scratching your paint.

I love it in conjunction with the Magic Towel MF.

I have had a couple issues. They are very delicate. I f you hit an emblem, snag or a corner, the loops will shred.

But, I can't compare the two, but only can say that the CBT is a wonderful towel.

Spilchy,

Could you please clarify what you mean by "final wax removal"? Would you use MF to remove the majority of the wax residue and then follow up with the CBT?

Thanks so much.

Actually, I use it to remove the wax entirely. It comes right off. Like I mentioned, it has "bite" to it, yet is is ULTRA soft.

I use it for any final wiping or buffing whether it be wax removal or the towel to wipe off QD.

I used it today to wipe off Pinncale Crystal Mist from a freshly waxed Souveran surface. What a joy - nothing is better!

It is my understanding that they are all but identical. Buy whichever you get a better price on, or from whomever you'd be ordering from anyway, or whichever towel has a dimesion you prefer.

The DF Towel is absolutely amazing for QD work. It is like a dream... It is also quite good at removing wax, but I tend to use other towels just so they get some use. ;) They are good for drying in that they hold a ton of water, but they aren't that easy to use. They soak it up slowly. You can wipe the car down first with one towel (or a different MF) and then use the DF for a final pass. Or just use other towels. But you won't regret buying either the DF Towel or the CBT. :xyxthumbs

Thanks everyone.

After using Klasse AIO/SG by itself for some time, I've started experimenting with carnuba again. I'm about to order some Souveran and thought I would purchase some new towels along with it.

Thanks again.

Ema, have you tried the S100 for carnauba?

It's great stuff and the extra money you save can buy some mighty fine MF buffing towels.

I like my CBT a lot and I also like the PakShak ultra-fine MF. Both are great products.

how would you compare the ultra-fine and the CBT?

SilverLexus,

I have not tried S100 yet. Most of my cars (until the newest one) have been light colored so I used One Grand Blitz and Pinnacle Paste Glaz as carnubas toppers. For the most part, I kept with AIO and SG because at that point, I was only looking to maximize protection.

Now that I have a dark green vehicle, I'm looking for more. I'll pick up some P21S/S100 with my next order. I have read wonderful things about it on Autopia. Thanks for the rec!

"how would you compare the ultra-fine and the CBT?"

I have a slight preference for the ultra-fine at this moment, but I would not give up my CBT either.

Ema,

I have tried S100 on dark green and it works well. I also get great results on the silver Lexus. What amazes me is the little effort to wax the car...I find myself waxing every month now since it goes so quick. I detailed my brothers BMW this past weekend and the waxing took just one hour, once I had used GEPC. I have some photos of the paint I will share soon on Autopia. The results you will see are amazing for a ten year old car with 206,000 miles.

I have a CBT, DF, and PakShak Ultra-fine.

It's hard to say which I like the best. The DF towel almost seems too delicate for me. I only use it for QD.

CBT does remove wax very well.

PakShak Ultra-fine is my all around performer. Great for removing wax, QD'ing, and removing polish. I really like this thing. Very plush, but still good bite.

The DF Towel and the CBT are the same towel. I have the CBT and I think it's a great towel for final buffing and quick detailing.

Same toweling material does not mean same towel. The CBT is made to my exact specifications. I did extensive research with 8 car nuts in my hood to determine the right size and color. Plus, the CBT is the only towel I'm aware of with a 60-day unconditional warranty.

The CBT is not that same as anything else out there. It is my exclusive product.

David in your hood:D How would you compare the DF towel to your own? I love the CBT and have 4 or 5 of them, just curious cause they seem very similar, what were the exact specifications for your towel? Thanks David:)

:D Cuz its pretty tough in his hood I don't wanna get capped:D I love the clandestine detailing world:o . You don't use my towel and I'll break your legs

I have a CBT but haven't had the chance yet to try it out. Now that summer is here I have to get off my lazy butt and start detailing. I have to say the towel feels divine and I can already see myself ordering more as I'm sure it won't let me down. :up David, you're a G (that means gangster) haha.

I love the DFT. What's not to like?

The exact specs for the CBT read something like this:

1. The best all-natural microfiber terry textile made in the world, regardless of cost. It is very expensive and we have it dyed in large bolts specifically for us.

2. Cool grey color with fabric binding to match.

3. Fabric cut to 19.5 by 19.5" size, which my test panel determined to be the perfect buffing towel size.

4. 1/2" fabric binding/edging sewn at 3/8" from edge using a cotton (not polyester!) thread. Due to several complaints of the binding not being durable enough, we are increasing the binding width and the depth of the stitch. Along with this change we are modifying the color of the binding to black for a sportier look.
