compounding speeds

what speed is good when compounding with the orange pad? im using 3M perfect it II rubbing compound, on the bottle it says between 2500-3000 rpms but would it be better to speed it up a lil or doesnt it matter because of the vibrations it creates at high speeds?

when *I* use FCRC I start at 3 (to prevent slinging) and kick it up to 6. So 99% of the time I'm using 6. FWIW, as I recall, virtually ALL of 3M's abrasives are "supposed" to be used at around 2,500-3,000. I always use 6 when using the PC.
