Completely owned by a 38 Ford coupe

GOT PREP?
This car completely owned me, no doubt about it. I spent 15 hours polishing the paint—never even touched the interior. Not only was it time consuming, but I tried almost every combination of pad/product/speed that I had before finally finding what worked. The paint is tinted clear and was as hard as a rock (which is completely opposite of every other experience that I have with tinted clear).

All is not lost as I was able to "charge accordingly" but i felt rather defeated at the hands of this car.

My final process was:

Ardex Alpha-grit (great product if you are using wool) via twisted wool @1800 RPM’s

HT HC via LC knitted wool (the nano foamed wool, or whatever it is called) @1500 RPM’s

IP @1500 via a Meguiars polishing pad

PO106FF @1400 RPM’s via a Wolfgang finishing pad

Sorry about the dust in the afters—I took the pictures the day after I completed the detail.

She’s not perfect by any means, but she’s much, much better. Some of the sanding marks left by the painter were deep enough to feel!

:bow You really do amazing work. Memphis car owners who care are lucky to have you.

BTW, should be going through Memphis on the 5th of June (probably!) and back through on the 9th. Let me know if we could meet up either day.

Joe, we've all been put up against those finishes that test our skill to wits end. I've had a few myself and in the end, you make due.

To be honest, I'm glad you found your kryptonite...For a second, I thought you'd come from another planet with the work you were producing.

IMO, 99.9% of the owners out there would be thrilled with the work you put forth on this ford.

Keep it up.

I can't understand how a Body Shop could let a car like this go out the door with all those problems. It's clear that there not concerned with having a good reputation.

The owner can hold his head proud now. Great work!
