Coming to the U.S...Where to buy #16?

I don't think No. 16 can be shipped acrossed the border.

What is in #16 that is so bad? I have never had a problem with any product being shipped across the border why is #16 so different?

Man I feel sorry for the Canucks. Living down South has its positives! Maybe I will do a detail run in the Summer and bring some products up.

I don't remember what it is, but it's the reason it's not sold in Canada (except for leftover stock) as it's banned in Canada. So I'm guessing it is illegal to ship to Canada but I doubt customs would even know.

Awesome man! I will be back in the summer if you need anything. Maybe a trade? Shokar / Victoria for some US stuff?

I thought #16 wasn't being brought in cause of the demand?

It apparently doesn't comply with the VOC regulations. More crap plain and simple. We worry about all the wrong things.

Don't get me going.

I figured that much but what specificaly is in #16? I ordered many products from the U.S. and never had any problem. #16 is just a wax. I would think products like Klasse AIO and UPP would be more of a problem than #16. Some of my products smell like a chemical factory and they were shipped no problem.

Actually, No. 16 isn't the only Meguiars products that can not be shipped today.

One of the reason you don't see the "true" detailer line up here is for that exact reason. Some of the product do not meet Canadian VOC legislation. The new Glass Cleaner as well as Body Solvent are not permitted to cross the border. The former APC+ I believe also feel into that scenario.

It's probably feasible to get some here if a company on an internet site does understand logistics and uses inappropriate HTS numbers but technically, No. 16, glass cleaner and Body Solvent should not be crossing our border.

What chemical or concentration of chemical is exceeding our regulatory limit I'm not sure about, perhaps Mike can help answer that.

I don't have the answer to that. But all of the products in the Detailer Line are California VOC Compliant and that's pretty strict, so Canadian regulations must be very, very, very strict. If a few Meguiar's products that are California VOC compliant cannot be shipped over the border, I wonder where other products stand on this topic?

Mike .. What is the shelf life of #16?

Meguiar's states that all of their products have a 3-5 year shelf life as long as they don't freeze.

I have a can of #16 from the 1960's that's perfectly fine to use.

I too have some rather old waxes (though mine are just from the '70s) that are perfectly fine. Just make sure the tins are sealed properly and avoid extreme temperatures (and wild temperature fluctuations, which can cause condensation) and you should be OK. FWIW, I bought a case each of both #16 and Collinite 476S and I expect them to be OK long after I'm dead and gone.

Anyone want me to grab a few cans? I'm sure I can keep my hands off for the summer :D PM me if your interested.

I believe Scottwax gets his at wash solutions off of I35E in Dallas. They have almost everything meguiars sells in stock and they have the best prices and customer service.

Correct. I normally buy all my Meguiars stuff at Wash Solutions. Best prices and they are usually stocked to the hilt. I believe they are one of, if not the largest Meguiars professional product distributors in America.

Finish Master in Grand Prarie usually has #16 in stock as well.

paco-some of us don't have to search for #16. Besides, I have one full can, one 2/3rds full can and my kids have one that is a bit more than half full.
