Combo: AIO VM & SG

I haven't seen any moderators accusing you of pushing any CK Scott. Maybe its just me?

They didn't do it in the main forums, but in the mod forum. I'm not getting into how I know, but I do.

BTW-to everyone-IMO, Vanilla Moose is superior to Moose Wax in ease of use, gloss and shine. I still use MW for tar and adhesive removal, wheels and door jams, but for a one step, I use Vanilla Moose instead.

I'm not in the mood for a flame war tonight... let's keep it cool!

Aw man this thread was getting very interesting. :)

If I may ask some stupid questions. Does Scottwax have some financial or social ties to ClearKote? I did a quick search and he has recently started at least 5 threads that somehow mention VM prominently. Now keep in mind I'm trying to be an objective poster. You know how we all get on a product kick. Maybe Scott's posts just reflect that. If I look back further, maybe all of his posts reflect S100. I don't know.

I have been seeing a lot of posts about VM lately although I attributed it to an fad thing like S100. On the other hand I could see how it would benefit a business to creatively hype a product on this site. How much do you spend on detailing supplies and how many members are there?

Scott has answered this before by stating he has no financial interest in Clear Kote. I would also add that I tried VM after reading a thread by NY Detailer who also recommends VM...Andrew

when the initial hype of Clearkote was out, I bought quite a few products and have to admit a few are not very impressive, but the one's Scottwax hypes the most, the VM and Quickshine are very impressive IMO. We all know the look of quality products is subjective, for me the VM is a great polish adding a nice shine and good depth - I don't use it for it's slight cleaning abilities because my prep is usually finished at that point. The VM/S100 combo is stunning. Jason I don't know why you say VM is not compatible with Sealants, I have been using it with both UPP and EX with by far the best results I have received from any other polish no bonding issues whatsoever, possibly you are talking about some other sealant that I have yet to try with it.

By the way there are a few Clearkote distributors that do post on this board, I have been PM'd by two, I haven't been solicited by scottwax though for Clearkote, S100 or Meguiars.

When Jason says sealants, I think he means real crosslinking pure resin sealants, like Klasse and Zaino. Not products like EX and UPP which are already loaded with oils.

UPP and EX sealants? hardly. To my knowledge they are to be carnaubas or provide that look at the cost of a true sealants durability.

"EX is an Amino Functional Resin with Carnuba." From the Poorboy's website. Last time I checked trying to mix carnauba with a polymer resin is like mixing oil and water.

"We have created this unique water-based tri-polymer emulsion that shines and shimmers like the finest of carnauba based waxes while having the durabilty of a polymer sealant." from Dwaynes website. My understanding of the product; solvents, oils, and a little dash of polymer.

When I talk about sealants, I mean true sealants that have to cross link and cure, such as Klasse and Zaino.

Sure UPP and EX have their places (I currently have both products, waiting for the rain to stop and a test conducted, maybe this wednesday) but it doesn't fit into my detailing bag of tricks. Some people just don't wash and wax their cars.....like ever. So I have to lay down something durable so the next time they come around (around a year or so) I have something to work with, and NOT work on removing.

My 2 cents.

All I know is that I like VM a lot and I feel that it looks better than S100 SEPC and so do my customers. Plus I think that Evertte is a great guy whom I hae spoken with on more than one occasion and he took back my moose wax after I did not like it. We sat on the phone one day for almost 30 mins shooting the breeze. That type of customer service just like PakShak and JT Intl is what keeps customers coming back. So I would rather order from Evertte than go to the Harley store and get it. To each his own.

I've also mentioned that I initiated contact between Everett and I when I first tried Quikshine and was very impressed with the results. He thanked me for letting him know that I liked his products. Several months later, he asked if I would like to field test a new product for him (Vanilla Moose) and I said I would. He asked for honest feedback, including ease of use and the perfomance. He made no mention of Autopia or any desire for me to make any public posts. In fact, as far as I know, he didn't even know about Autopia until I e-mailed him the link of a review I did on Clearkote products.

There is a performance shop that is near me that sells the Clearkote line and they do give me a professional discount, just like my Meguiars distributer does. Therefore, I can get Clearkote products at a lower price and avoid shipping charges.

I've met Everett one time when he was in the Dallas area (at the Pate Swap Meet) and he was very interested in S100 since I'd been using that to top Vanilla Moose. He examined the jar, tried a bit of it out and asked specifically what I liked about it. After I told him about the ease of use, incredible shine, etc, he said to give him a month or two and he'd have something with a carnuba base for me to try. What I got was his new Carnuba Moose. Again, he just wanted feedback on how well the product worked and no mention of Autopia was made nor implied. He wanted my honest opinion so he'd know how close he was to his target of S100, simple as that.

Scott I always enjoy your threads and contributions to this forum. I believe in taking a man at his word. I truly believe your reviews of any product; seeing that you do this for a living. Whereas, I only work on my cars on the weekend and depend on guys like you and all other contributors to steer me toward quality products...Andrew

Scott is that CK carnumba available to the public yet?? I looked on the web page but found nothing.

Thanks

I thought it would be on the website by now. I bought a bottle last Wednesday at the shop I buy it at the mall...and they dropped me an e-mail 2 days earlier to let me know they got it in. I also bought a couple bottles of the car wash soap....now it is blue and seems to be very concentrated. Real good sheeting when you remove the hose nozzle and just trickle the water over the car.

Guess I should have stated polymers, which to me I generally call sealants because I don't consider them wax.
