Colored Microfiber towels

Excuse my dumness, but I had heard that using towels with dye in them could cause some damage to paint.Use white only,is what I remember reading on some website. Doesn't that apply anymore? I'm a newbie so be gentle with me
 
Jonny- I'm not sure myself; however, now that I think about it, they (manufacturers) dye the fabric to produce different colors. Maybe after-market dye is more harsh than the manufacture quality dye. I think I will go with the markers designed for fabric. I think I can get it at JoAnns Fabrics. Maybe this will prevent "running".:dunno
