Bought a bottle of Color X today and decided to try it on my wifes Chevy Astro. The van sits outside 24/7.It gets a soft cloth car wash every week or two. Every 3 months it gets waxed with a cleaner wax. Today I applied a quick coat of Color X on the van . In the past I used Meg. cleaner wax , #6 and Gold Class, I also used Mothers cleaner wax and Reflection. All these products did a fine job of keeping the paint in good shape. I have to say that Color X is the best of the lot. It is the easiest to put on , and as easy as Reflection to take off. The shine and gloss is every bit as good as Gold Class and Reflection. It seems to have all the good points of the other waxes in one product.If you have a older car it a must try. or if you are recomending a cleaner wax to someone , this is the stuff.

I never clayed under the car but I always clay the sides as it cleans some tar and other blemishes there.

I can't answer for other people, but if you’re referring to the Bronco II, I did clay the sides, abeit quickly, I just didn't take a picture of it. I also did it right after washing, using my wash water as the lubricant and I used Meguiar's D-6100 mild clay in the detailer line.



I usually evaluate the sides to see if they feel like they need to be clayed, and in this particular situation, it definitely felt like it had bonded contaminants on the sides. The clay bar proved it did by collecting all kinds of contaminants.



Some cars I detail however don't need the sides clayed, it just depends upon the environment the car is most often exposed to I guess.
