Hey guys! Been using other products for awhile but feel like trying collinite 845 so....

Wax or sealent? trying to figure this out becuase from the way they describe its a wax, but strong like sealent.

If a wax, can i use it as a topper on #21?

If a sealent can i top it with PS?

NTOXIK8N DETAIL- The lines between waxes and sealants sorta get blurry...I read somewhere that 845 contains "resins" in addition to the "wax", but you know how different people use words like "wax" anyhow...hard to say just what's in stuff these days.

But you can put waxes over 845 and you can put 845 over waxes, I've done it both ways. You can put 845 over top of sealants, but I wouldn't try putting a finicky sealant over top of 845. So regarding your proposed combos, yeah, they both oughta work fine.

haha hmmmm back to square one lol. What procedure did you find worked best for you? Using as a topper, say over #21, or being topped by something like #26?

NTOXIK8N DETAIL- I ended up just using it by itself most of the time. I wouldn't bother putting a sealant under it as it's plenty durable on its own; if it's *not* durable enough for you I'd put some 476S over top of it instead of something *under* it.

Putting some #26 over it might be worth doing if (maybe a big "if") the difference in appearance appeals to you. #26 and 845 have different looks and I do think you'll prefer the look of one over the other (and I don't usually make a big deal out of little differences between LSPs ;) ).

Im trying Collinite for my lighter colours, this is why these queations have risen. being not sure if its a sealent or a wax, i was thinking of putting #26 over top (if Coll is a sealent) just to add to it. If it worked better as a topper, i was adding it to add depth to the sealent.

just did a bit of reading (couldnt find it when i searched last), seems 845 is fine as my LSP! so i guess ill just end it there haha

cheers

PS how would you compare the looks between #26 and collinite? just so i kinda know for myself.

The #26 is deeper/darker/richer; the 845 is brighter/shinier...but you know how it is trying to explain subtle stuff like that ;)

I like how 845 looks on light and medium colors just fine...*I* wouldn't top it with the #26 but that's just me.

FWIW the only time I top 845 these days is when I put some 476S paste wax over top of it for added durability. I don't really see any appearance difference after a few washes so again, I don't want to make any big deal out of insignificant differences.
