Hi all,

I just simply want to know if anyone tried out the collinite wax products. I saw them on autogeek and they seem pretty good. im in the mood to try out a new product and i want to try out collinite.

I want to know if you anyone here had a good experience with collinite products. Please let me know, i want to try out the paste wax and the collinite leather treatment wax. I have some discoloration on my leather I want to get rid off.

The Collinite #845 Insulator Wax was very easy to apply and remove.
It looked good and was slick to the touch. Since it probably never went more than 6 weeks between applications, I can't comment on durability.
It does have a reputation for very good durability for a wax.

The Collinite #476 Paste Wax was an absolute nightmare for me to remove. Only tried it once and gave it away.
It also has a reputation for good durability.

Based on my experience, I would recommend the Insulator Wax, but would not buy the paste wax again.

Same here on the 855 Leather & Vinyl - is it just a cleaner or just a protecter or both? ~ I've just recently tried a couple of ultra thin coats of 845IW over FMJ on one and DG105 on the other - WOW! ... Can I expect better looks or protection with a very thin coat of 476? Collinite Wax Productsx :: Choice of the Pros :: Auto, Marine and Industrial ... btw, can this thread be moved to LSP's ^ or Product discussions?

I like 476.. but i tend to spitshine my wax LSP. and I used this stuff all the time on my Jeep before i knew what i was doing.. and a can lasts and lasts.

I like Collinite waxes, they have a good look, good durability and are fairly easy to apply/remove. The real key is in thin layers.

From experience, 476 can be a bear to remove if you put it on too thick, they key is to take a light "swipe" from the can, start in one spot, and work the wax from that spot over the panel.

845 is easier to apply, especially by machine. Again, thin is the key here, the thinnner it is, the easier it will be to remove.

I got about 3.5-4 months of solid beading on a DD that sits outdoors. I've tried various QD's and Carnuaba spray waxes over them with good success. I've used them both over various glazes and polishes. No issues to date.

One piece of advice, make sure you let it fully haze before trying to remove it, this is particuraly important with 476, it will often take a fair mount of time to fully haze. I'd suggest getting a MF bonnet for your PC if you find yourself having removal issues.

Give them a try, I think you'll find them quite nice.

We have been using the Insulator wax for years. Excellent durability. Can be difficult to remove if not applied in thin layers. To avoid this, we use an additional wax on top to help with the removal.
