Collinite 845-A "winter" wax?

Fast response here is what Collinite says 845 IS and ISN'T:

' The 845 Liquid Insulator wax basically contains solvent, silicone, #1 grade yellow carnuba wax, and two man made wax blends. It is a pure wax blend - does not contain or is a sealant-.'

And we would need to know how Collinite defines "sealant" for their answer to mean much.

How do the folks here on Autopia define "sealant"? How is a "sealant" different from a man-made "wax"?

The part in hyphens is as typed by Collinite, the answer is clear; 845 does contain both natural and synthetic WAXES but it does not contain a sealant and is not a sealant...

Proper Auto Care had a "chat night" and a rep from Collinite was online and it was stated that it is not a 100% wax but a polymer / wax blend.... The durability of this stuff far surpases any "pure wax" I have ever tried that is for sure

Sythetic wax.... Hmmmm, that sounds like what a sealant is to me... I think it is semantics.

Which is what I thought, any product that was a semi sealant, for lack of a better description, would have been advertised as such..

Nope....

One example =

NXT Tech Wax = Not a wax but a sealant

Real sealants crosslink.

Not exactly, It's part silicone oil as well.

The question I posed was this:

'Is it fair to say that 845 is a wax product, containing natural and synthetic waxes, but not a sealant like Klasse SG?'

Its clear to me that Collinite is adamant that 845 be thought of as a wax and not a sealant.

How do you know?

Is it silicone oil or siloxane?

And why would this prevent cross-linking?

To my knowledge NXT cross-links.
