I used Collinite 476s for the first time today, I have never used anything but caranuba. It was for a 2009 white Toyota so it was difficult to see where the wax was, but all in all it went pretty easy. The only thing I noticed is that caranuba tends to be more aggressive in pulling off contaminates that I miss with clay, the collinite doesn't do this so spend a little extra time with the clay bar. I have my figures crossed that this wax will last until the first 50+F day of spring. The Meguairs caranuba was only lasting 2 months.
 
Spring is pushing it without some touch up. However 476S is a very popular winter choice. This year I using a combo of 476 with 16 melted into a jar. Time will tell.

Nothing wrong with that...it's doing as anticipated.



The 476S is a sealant...with the correct surface prep you should be able to get an (easy) 6 months from that product. It's very good.

I have seen a few inconsistancies with 476. I have been using it for 2 years. Sometimes it will last 3-4 months & other times it,s protection has virtually diminished by 6-8 weeks...summer or winter.
 
Collinite 476 is pretty tough and is supposed a long time. With proper paint prep and applying to a smooth surface it will often go over 6 months.
 
I have used 476 as our winter wax for several years. Lasted from October through April in good condition, we do a lot of driving up in the mountains, salt, sludge et al. Applied properly, it's a very reliable, long-lasting sealant.
 
476 is indeed the only LSP that survived more than a few weeks in the cold, salty, northern conditions I drive in for 5 months.



Couldn't make it through the whole winter, they put on just too much abrasives here. I do add another coat during the holidays to give it more chance to last until spring.
 
anyone have any tips for applying/removing?



i used it this past summer and it was about impossible to remove.. would the humidity have made it hard to remove or was i just applying too much?
 
I would just apply it thin. I do a panel or two at a time. Then go back and wipe off. I did a coat a week or so ago, and maybe in the next few days I'll add another coat for good measure.



I'm not sure about the humidity effecting Collinite? I know it effects Zaino when I've applied it.



Just apply it thin and see how it goes. You could always use a 100% cotton towel for removal. Sometimes I find this works better than a microfiber. This is how I removed the Collinite fwiw.
 
If your having trouble removing it there are 2 possible issues

1..your applying it in the hot sun

2 Your putting it on too thick.
