Collinite 476s vs Meg's #16 and Pink Wax

I just got my online order of Collinite 476S yesterday. I just finished putting one layer of Collinite onto the car. Here are my thoughts: Collinite seems very oily compared to the other brands I have used before (NuFinish, Turtle Wax Hard Shell, Mothers Cleaner Wax, etc...). Of course, this could probably be attributed to the fact that it has a high percentage of carnauba wax (higher than the 845 IW also). I personally didn't mind the oilyness. The application was extremely easy. Because of the oily nature of the 476, I was able to spread the wax very thin (I did circular motions). I didn't leave it on too long because of other members commenting that it would be impossible to get off if left on too long. The removal was fairly easy, although not as easy as something like Mothers Cleaner Wax. I will post some pictures in the detailing products discussion and do a week by week analysis of the paint condition in terms of water beading.

The only thing I think of with regard to applying 476S is that it's a pretty hard wax (at least my pre-VOC stuff is) so it doesn't just soak into the pad like some "creamier" waxes.

Put it on nice and thin (like everything else, huh?) and it oughta buff off just fine. MF bonnets on the PC/Cyclo work great for this BTW.

I let it dry completely before I buff it off. As long as it's thin there won't be any problems and I get somewhat better durability when I let it dry completely. It's not a *huge* difference, but enough that I noticed it and decided to quit wiping it off before it had dried.

I'll be applying a final coat of 476S to my mechanic's loaner this afternoon before I give it back to him tomorrow :D
