Collinide 845 or Wolf Gang?

good question..............i use wolfgang on my camaro which sits in the garage.....and i purchased 845 for my truck ( black ) which sits outside....................

i plan on using the 845, from what i have read.

Wolfgang 3.0 Lasts a long time, atleast here in the UK.

845, atleast in my experince is not the durable of Collinite products. It gives about 3 months of quality protection, in that time its a tough product. I have found after about 3 months it will last for about 5 months if its not to salty on the roads, like wise if its harsh it will be mostly gone by about the 5th month.

I really like a product that can release dirt easily, and i dont think either of these products do it very well after 4 months and things are not that strong after 3 months.

If durability as well as lifespan are important then sink your money in 1000P or Fleetwax.

Wolfgang 3.0 doesnt seem to bead or sheet that well after about 10-12 weeks though it passes the squeak test for many months. I think it tends to loose its initial high surface tension quite fast.

Where you will tell the difference is in the looks, 845 is very bright looking and pretty reflective. Wolfgang 3.0 has good optics and high jetting, not quite as good as Polycharged Liquid Souveran.

All in all if you like the warmth of a quality nuba with 5 months of durability then go for Wolfgang. If you like bright and bold, go for 845. Neither or as strong or last as long under tough situtations as something like 1000P.

Is the OP asking about Wolfgang DGPS or Fuzion? I think the durability issues people are speaking of are probably with Fuzion. DGPS durability was pretty high from my experience.

Wolfgang lasted a while for me too and made the ride look pretty good. After a few weeks i did however top the Wolfgang with 845.

So i would go both:

Wolfgang topped with 845 if you can otherwise go 845 if you had to pick one or the other.

So you put the 845, on top of the wolfgang sealer or WG wax, from the responses, looks like 845, is the way to go, what about inbetween waxes, what works best with 845?

IME 845 isn't very finicky about what leaves-stuff-behind QD you use on it. But I still lean towards Griot's SpeedShine rather than FK425 (those are the two I use the most).

Ok, I think I'm going to go with WG sealer topped with 845, so what else do I need, are the foam masters worth the cost, or just advertising, and if they are worth it, whats the best foam product to use DP or what?

I simply cannot wash without marring unless I use the foamgun, but it's not a magic bullet and you have to work out the proper technique (different people use them differently).

FWIW, since I got my wash technique figured out I've been able to basically eliminate polishing, even after a nasty winter.

I don't use the foamgun the way some people do, and I don't *want* a thick, clingy foam. So I use my fave regular shampoo, Griot's Car Wash.

But my technique is a bit too involved to post here/now :o

I for one would be very very interested to know how Accumulator does his wash technique using foamgun.

I dont mind waiting for this :)

jackson- There's a thread around here somewhere (maybe look in the "Articles" section) titled Accumulator's Non-marring Wash Technique.

I've been meaning to update it for a long time :o But if you look into the latter posts I think there's a summary of what I'm currently doing. The intial post in the thread is something that might be interesting reading, but isn't really a technique I'd expect anybody to use. I don't even use it myself any more.

Sheesh, I REALLY oughta sit down and rewrite it some time. Note to self....
