If your not sitting down you might want to find a chair. Here is my car yesterday morning:

That is the effect of going to a tough school (last semester at least) and not having any time to detail. Add on top of that all the crap they put on the roads this time of year. Thankfully (for my car) this weekend I somehow managed to have a free day. So I decided to give her a little touchup before my big spring detailing session.

I started with removing the grime... this is what was under it:

I didn't have my rotary with me, so I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to save it without spending some more time. However, I took out my DACP, orange pad and PC and went to work. After that I followed with AIO, SG x 2, and NXT x 2 (first time using it).

The results weren't bad. I finished late at night and didn't have enough light in the garage to see everything. Today I found some spots I missed when buffing. However, here it is after all that. Note: this is also after a day of driving and sitting outside. I haven't had a chance to get some good pics... I'll have to get some more after the next wash.

Feels good to be the cleanest car on the road again. Today when I got to campus (yes we have to go to school on just about every holliday) I parked right next to my same color/model car. It was pretty shocking. Then after lunch I moved it into one of the good spots for everyone on campus to admire. Those last pictures are in low light and don't really show it off to well. It's not perfect right now, but man it's definitly the shiniest thing in the lot.

:shocked

To hell and back, eh? I thought my car looked bad after 3 weeks of on and off rain then snow on Saturday, but it sure didn't get beat up like yours did. That is an amazing transformation!

Good work, but where's the tire dressing.

I have some and I'm still debating putting it on. I've been expiramenting lately with not having shiny tires, but just having really clean ones. After I found what EF Hi intensity cleaner does to tires, I kind of like the simple soft look. It looks different in person.

Did someone spit their milkshake all over your hood? :D

Looks sharp...Try 303 Aerospace or Armor All on your tires for a nice satin finish.

Deja-Vu?

Looks Like My Car! Actually, I Was Smart Enough This Time Around To not Get Black! I Need Warm Weather So I Can Detail Like You Did!

Impressive cleanup! Nothing worse than winter weather to put the damper on detailing. But that was a heck of a job you did. Hope everyone else on campus appreciated it!

Awesome "save"! You should feel really proud.

I gather that it's really not a great idea to leave tires "naked" -- that, at a minimum, they benefit from some UV protection. I've been really happy with the soft look I get from Zaino's tire/rubber protection. Also been happy with Eagle's Satin Concours. Neither of those leaves the tires with the dreaded "ghetto shine" -- just a nice black, satin look.

Up in New England all the cars look the same - only we can't wash them because the water freezes before it even gets to the end of the hose!!!

Nice Job btw :)
