Coldest ONR Wash - 18 Degrees!!!

I just received my first shipment of MF towels from NeatItems. I noticed the tag is on the "plush" side of the towel.

What gives with this? I know the easy answer is to just cut the tag off, but it seems odd to me that they would place the tag there. Sure would make it easy to scratch your paint with the tag.

I also received a couple of towels with my KLASSE order from KLASSE Direct and their towels had the tag on the non-plush side. They seemed to be a little plusher than the NeatItems towels.

What would you use the non-plush side for? Windows?

Thanks.

The tag is just probably there out of convenience from the manufacturer.

As for the tag, it's illegal to sell a towel without a tag on it (so just pull it off).

I like both sides, depends on your mood. They're made of the same material. You can use the not so plush side when you need some extra oomph like for SG removall where you don't know where there's less chance of contamination on the finish to get in the way.

YoSteve has it right.

Personally, I use the plucsh side only (such as on the Miracle/Magic towel) and if I need more oomph, I switch to a Viper Detailing cloth which is about the same plushness as the reverse side of the Miracle/Magic Towel.

Coldest ONR Wash - 18 Degrees!!!

OK, it's true. No one ever accused me of being sane.

Bright sunshine, 18* and no wind.

................well............why not.

My driveway is partially shady so I wash in the street where there's plenty of sunshine and asphalt. I had to wash one side, then dry, to prevent freezing. Then turn the car around to face the "sunny" side. Wash, dry.

3 gallons ONR/warm water mix
One bucket method... not too dirty, just wanted to get the salt off!
1 pair thick rubber gloves (not shown in pic)
1 Large, thick Microfiber towel
1 Absorber for drying
AA Tire foam for wheel wells
Meg's Endurance for tires

No QD spray, it was freezing as I sprayed it.

Come on, RockyMountain, you can beat that can't you? (Can you say 17 degrees?):D

Hey Bill,
You are my idol. My car has been covered with salt for the better part of 2 weeks, and it is killing me to look at it that way. I am waiting for the temps to at least get into the 30's. The coldest temp that I have done a ONR to date is 29*. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Yeah, the real key is sunshine and no wind.

18 degrees with sun felt more like 40 in a dark-colored sweatshirt.:D

Nice job! I would consider this a classic win/win situation; Bill gets a pristine DD and the neighbors get a dinner conversation...

KC sunshine must be a month warmer than CR - I would have ended up with beaded ice.

Yeah, Cedar Rapids, you guys have "Real" Winter up there!

The car looks great Bill... you're my new inspiration for working in cold weather. I just think, "What would Luster do?" And I get to work!:Dancing Dot:
I think "What would Luster do?" and then I say to myself..."that crazy son of a gun would be out there cleaning his car...Glad I ain't Luster!" :D

It has been a pretty harsh winter here in North Georgia this year (nothing compared to you guys however). It is hard for me to get motivated to do my ONR's in the garage! It's been in the 20's pretty regularly here. That's cold when you are used to the lowest low's being around 32?.

When it gets below 20 I break out my hot water unit and give my truck a high pressure hot water rinse to get all the crud off and call it good till it warms up a bit.

Technically that's not really "washing it" so...... OK Bill, you win!!! :notworthy: To be honest this is 1 contest I'm very happy to finish second! You definitely need "help" :out:
