Coin-ops on Long Island

At my nearby Gulf (New Hyde Park Rd. and Union Turnpike), there is self-serve coin op wash place. I haven't personally used it, though.

Stewart Ave in Bethpage, just North of Hempstead TPKE (Stewart Hemp TPK intersection is about 1,000ft west of SOB 135 EXPY)

There is another off Deer Park Ave....I forgot teh name of the road but I believe it is near the Sears/7-11 shopping strip is.

They are usually in ehhhhh areas. I know there are a few more. Just can't think of any. There has to be one in Bayshore

Thats the one I use. Its pretty good because after washing you can pull your car into the ample space they have and do a wipe down. Their property is big and they don't seem to mind if you find a little corner to finish off your car. They are good about maintaining the hardware. Last time I was there was about a year and a half ago so...

Wow, I've finally found an autopian who actually lives in close proximity to me :) Do you live near that area, or did you just go there to do the wash?

2nd on the one in Bethpage, I would not use the soap though cause it will strip everything off your car. Use their water and bring a bucket of hot water, wash mits, and your own soap. Thats what I used to do.

:) I use to live in Fresh Meadows so I use to take my car there all the time. But now I have moved further east to rockville centre so I don't hang out there as much anymore. I now have a driveway too lol :)
