I'm happy for me too. Too bad the subject went off course. There is no arguing that some coatings may offer better protection than other LSPs. However, the key word is "may" given all the prep work coatings require and all the other variables that must be correct as well..temp, humidity, polish, type of paint, user experience, etc...or the results will not be any better and maybe worse than non coated paint. For what coatings cost, and given the variables that must be spot on to get a good result, they are certainly not the end all and be all. Have a wonderful day!
I don't know how different Zaino is from DG, but I used to run into issues with Zaino where it was difficult to remove. But I can assure you, that the top rated coating do offer superior protection - there is no maybe. They are designed to be much better. And I see that your "set it and forget it" LSP isn't as simple as you try to make it sound like - You have to mix 105 with 601, 4:1, and then you top that with Aquawax. Prepping the paint is still the same chore as if you were to use a coating.
DURABILITY: Your 6-9 months protection is very weather/color dependent. A black finish in Arizona will not last as long as a white car in Tennessee. So if some one chooses to have their vehicle coated for these very reasons, it makes perfect sense.
And of course, the protection doesn't just provide the same level for lets say 6 months and just falls off overnight. Right?
Does anyone choose not to use coatings because it takes the fun out of trying new products?

GOOD POINT. If you like to try new products or several different LSP, coatings are not for you.
If you want the look of a high end wax and durability of a coating you need to look at Kamikaze!
There are none
Thanks, but I'd like to still get a little more input first.
You can take Mikes word here as gospel on Gyeon and Kamikaze products. There's nobody I know of that uses more of them on a daily basis. On top of that he has it on his own car.
