Just do a strong decon wash with an iron remover and a strong soap such as Reset or similar and then go for it. As Coatings=crack said, don`t use anything else such as toppers or drying aids on the paint or they may interfere with CanCoat. It may not last a year without better prep but should absolutely get you through the winter.

It may not last a year without better prep but should absolutely get you through the winter.
Durability and prep are closely aligned. Without machine polishing expect to half the durability of Cc as a general indication. Can massively fluctuate depending on your prep, what it`s attempting to bond to etc. Half it again if there is not a solid base already there.Just do a strong decon wash with an iron remover and a strong soap such as Reset or similar and then go for it. If I don`t have the time or agreeable weather to polish off Cancoat that I applied almost a year ago can I just put another coat on? Come Spring I should have the time to polish whatever is left off and apply a more long term coating. I just need it to get me through the Winter again much like I did last year.
I would still Iron remover, decon wash with a alkaline soap, use a coating prep spray. I did that to CqUk3 just cuz my cancoat was near expiration. Worked well.
