Coach leather conditioner?

My girlfriend has a couple of Coach leather bags and they gave her a bottle of leather conditioner. Has anyone tried the stuff on thier seats? It's used for quality leather, so it should be good stuff.
 
I have been using my Coach leather conditioner and Coach leather cleaner on my seats about once a month since I got them (early fall). I personally feel that nothing else store bought even comes close, as the leather feels supple and not greasy like a lot of other auto store leather cleaners.

It also works really well on your other leather items. Keeps them nice and soft :xyxthumbs
 
The coach leather conditioner is for dyed leather. If your car has painted leather (which is probaly the case unless you have a bentley, rolls, or some jags) then leather conditioner isn't going to help at all. It will never actually get to the leather at all. You should be treating the leather with a good cleaner and then a protectant like 303.

For reference, how do we find out which cars have dyed leather?



Also, is this Coach conditioner form the purse manufacturer?
 
It's a pretty simple test. Put a drop of water on the leather, if it is absorbed or leaves a darker color (water mark), your leather is just dyed, if it beads on top of the leather, you have painted or top coated leather.

Leatherseats.com (where I got my seats) uses Katzkin interiors leather which is top-coated. They recommend Mother's Leather Cleaner and Leather Conditioner. They replied that Coach Leather Cleaner and Leather Conditioner would provide the same effect and would be more than ok to use :)



And yes, it is the same Coach as the "purse" manufacturer (they do make more, you know ;) )
 
Thank you, it turns out my leather is dyed and has no top coat (I suppose I already knew that). I regulary clean my seats my using a damp cloth. I may use leatherique when the time comes.

Yes, I know they make more. It's just that my sister, mother, and lady friends seem to adore the brand for the purses and wallets. I cannot escape it....

Sure, you can use it, it probably won't harm anything, but it probably won't help much either. It might have some cleaning properties, but it's won't condition it either. I don't know how much it costs, but if it's like other coach products I don't think the expense will be worth it.



You'd probably be better off cleaning with a mild soap/water mix with a MF and then protecting with 303 or something similar.

Each bottle was $8.00 (6 oz), so it was actually about the same price as the Mother's stuff that was recommended.



As for it not doing any good, we will see. So far it has been working for me, and I have yet to try the 303 stuff. I like the Coach conditioner and cleaner because they are odor neutral :)



My leather looks like it's in pretty good condition, compared to many who use other products on their same leather kits. Only time will tell.
