CMA yellow pad with SMR . . . my experience

Just an FYI . . . I was using the white CMA pad on my PC with 3m SMR and got the expected results using Carguys directions. I decided to experiment and switched to the yellow pad and, wow, was very impressed with how much easier my generally minor swirls disappeared.

The reason for this is that the yellow pad has more cutting action (more aggressive).

Depending on the level of polishing that needs to be done, you'd start with either a yellow or white (CMA "branded") pad.

saabman,

What speeds did you work at with the yellow (cutting) pad and SMR?

I've been reluctant to use the yellow pad due to it's "agressiveness"...but am curious to see if I'll get better results.

My $0.02...

Last time I used SMR on my red Volvo, I used the CMA yellow pad. Started at 5 on the PC with light-to-moderate pressure and slowed to 2-3 with light pressure as the SMR disappeared.

Results were simply outstanding.:up
