CMA Big Blue Towel

Not the "exact" thing, anyway. The BBT from CMA is a 80/20 polyester/polyamide blend. The one you mention is a 70/30.

The BBT has a waffle texture. I don't know what the look/feel of the one you mention is like. They never show a photo or describe it.

I talked to Mr. Premiumautocare last night and he sent me this picture. I'm going to order one and run it side by side with CMAs Big Blue. He said that it was definatly not the same towel. I'm looking forward to doing this review. If worse comes to worse then at least I have a new bath towel. Premiumautocare's towel is huge!

I've read that a 70/30 towel is better for your paint and is less likely to scratch than an 80/20 towel. Can anyone confirm this, or am I off base?

Thanks

dbackfan....I think the difference between blends (assume same manufacturer etc etc) is the water holding capacity.

Jngrbrdman: Thanks for the info. The picture clearly shows that it's a different Big Blue. Looking forward to reading your review.

I just got some Big Blues from CMA last Friday.

Anyone want all the stuff I have bought over the last 3 years to dry the cars?

I am officially retiring all the synthetic chamoises and cutting up the bath towel size cotton towels.

This thing is the greatest!

P.S. I bought 4 and may need some more.

CMA's towel arrived yesterday and Premiumautocare's will be here on Thursday. I've got a day of detailing planned on Saturday so I'll review them both together then and get something written up with pictures. :xyxthumbs I am really looking forward to this. I'm looking forward to reviewing Platinum against Blackfire too. Thanks to tacscar I'll be getting some samples to try out.

I have 2 each of the BBT and Neat Items bath size towels. I like the BBT better, seem to absorb more, although the Neat Items towels are much plusher. I will be ordering more BBT next time. I will say this though, with either one, my thoughts of hand washing and wringing them out by hand, are gone. These things are so absorbent, both your arms will fall off trying to wring the Dawn or whatever soap you used out of the towel. Into the machine on gentle cycle, them I hang them to dry.

I just tried my new Big Blue for the first time today and I must say it is awesome. It is way better than my old Absorber or any other chamois. Big Blue is soft and doesn't leve any water trails behind. A must have! Go Big Blue :)

Just to reiterate the praises here, this product it fantastic! It is a bit pricey but is worth every penny. I highly recommend buying two BBT's because if you have an SUV it will take two to finish the job properly.

I started using the MF towel from Griots Garage.. while pricey, the price does include a lifetime no questions asked warranty.. I will never get another chamois again.. but I thought I would just throw a curve into these discussions..

:D

What does a warranty on a towel cover? What if my dogs eat it (which they have eaten everything else they can get their teeth on, so why not). I looked on the Griot's site under the Big Yellow post in the other forum, didn't mention any kind of warranty.

ok, I am not a representative for the company,, but anytime you dont like their product or it is not performing, they will take it back no questions asked.. I guess in the case of the towel, I cant think of anything just now, but if it quit absorbing water, (prob wont happen) you can just return it and get your money back or another one..
