Granted the word durability is all subjective to conditions . I live in Wi , land of road salt , salt spray , sand all on the roads.

I'm doing a car for winter which I know will be taken through carwashes during the winter season.

If I do a PM followed by CMW , will it stand the harsh winter and carwash detergent .

Thats what I have 2x on my 4Runner for winter. I may hit it with PW and probably switch back and forth.

But the vehicle in question is a black Honda CRV.

I haven't had any experience using CMW under the winter conditions you face. I'd suggest re-applying when you get a nice enough day halfway through winter or using a product like Optimum Car Wax after every few washes.

^^^^ agreed

i dont understand why people dont wash and wax their car during the winter...waxes are going to last all winter long, so why not beautify your car 2-3 times during the winter.

with ONR readily available to wash inside a garage on a sunny, yet cold day, you can wash and wax many times during the winter. I wouldnt trust any wax to last more than three months, let alone in harsh conditions

Fallguy, where in Wisconsin? I live in Racine. In my experience with Wisconsin winters, you really have to re-apply at least once, maybe more depending on the severity of the season. Hopefully we have a mild winter after last years. I just applied 2 top coats of CMW on my wifes car for winter.

I wash my car several times a week and put wax on when the temps are above 40 F. And I'm on the Atlantic coast in Nova Scotia. Only clean car in town.

On my personal vehicle I keep it very clean and really go over it every week. I have a heated private garage so it's sure nice doing a car when it's 10* outside and I'm waxing my truck in a T shirt and shorts . The only bad thing is a need to take it to the touchless carwash to get rid of the sand and salt , them come home and finish it all up . To cold to have the hose out and where I live out in the country my water is terribly hard so I would have to reroute from my water conditioner to the garage on a separate line.

So would you suggest doing a Poly seal and maint. with ONR and OCW

How many layers of Poly seal can I do .

As far as the CK doing a VM/PM combo and a layer of CMW and then just maintain with QS ? Doesn't QS have protective agents like OCW , but not the wax ??

Poli-Seal is a mild polish and sealant/carnabua blend so that is your base application, then you can maintain with ONR washes and either OCW or OS.

You can maintain CMW (I'd suggest two coats for full coverage) with QS but you'd have to use it every wash since it isn't nearly as protective as OCW would be. Using ONR as you wash method would also help keep the paint slick.
