ClearKote VM and MW, first impression

I've been using the CK products for a few years now. They each have their uses. No question on my black cars VM (PC with Yellow/orange pad applied) followed by CMW (PC with gray or hand applied) is a winner combo!

In defense of MW, it's by far the best product for a motorcycle ever! Hand applied with a micro-fiber pad on the entire bike (except for tires and seats) and removed, it's the fastest and best looking product ever. Works wonders on the plastic windshield.

Just my opinion!

As long as it won't strip the paint off my car, I'll try it. I have quite a few products in my arsenal that I have used only once due to not liking it, or it not being what I expected, but at least I tried it and I can now comment on it when other people ask me about it. I certainly didn't buy Moose Wax to be my number one wax, I just wanted to try it. I don't mind the negative comments about the product, it's actually what I was looking for so I'm not disappointed when I use it. It would have been a totally different issue if I would have used it on a car expecting the best and not achieving it. I'll play with it a while and see where it fits in my detailing regime. Who knows, it may end up on wheel duty like a few other products I have :) For $20 bucks, I won't cry over it, that's for sure.

The neagative comments come from too much expectation. Moosewax really is a great allin one type of cleaner/protectant. Its great for fast jobs, rapid waxes, wash/wax jobs....

Agreed. Very easy to use and a pretty decent one step product, IMO.

Yeah, that's actually why I bought it. I haven't had a chance to try it yet, but will be comparing to some Automagic BC-2 which is designed for basecoat/clearcoat paintjobs and is a cleaner wax also. I get a customer every now and then that just doesn't want to spend a lot of money on a detail and that's when an all in one comes in.

Excellent product when you don't have a much time,I love it on wheels too...

Now that I have tried VM, I have to say, I was pretty impressed. I'm a beginner, so i'm sure there are a few products like this, or similar products out there that others prefer.

Things I liked about it:

-Easy to Apply by hand or pc.

-Removes with the greatest of ease.

-Darkens and deepens paint.

-Leaves the Finish very wet looking.

-Makes rubber and plastic look new.

Things That i disliked:

-Smell makes me nauseous.

-Durability (this is understandable for a glaze) needs a topper like most glazes

I am not a pro detailer, this is just a hobby I picked up a few months ago. I like to keep my car sharp looking, and love to clean and restore things. but if someone asked me detail there car, and it was a dark color, I would include VM in the mix. For it's ease and flexable usage, and it's great results. also it's not that expensive, and a little goes a long way.

Thanks for the reply COEX. The orange/yellow pad isn't too agrressive for VM?

Not at all! I use VM with an orange pad on both my Vette (Black) and on two Vipers with great results.

In reality, a PC at full speed with a cutting pad is still not as agressive as you might think. I don't use full speed often but you can. Now a rotary, that's an entirely different matter!!!
