Clearkote RMG/CMW - Oily Residue

Some of you may have read my saga about what I thought were buffing marks on my hood left from D300 and MF pad. I figured out, with help from the forum here, that the buffing marks were actually issues caused by my LSP (CMW) - since I was able to "dissipate" them with some QD and MF.

I thought all was well...until I took the car out in the direct sun to give it a final wipe down for a car show this past week. The hood is still giving me fits - it's covered with oily marks that just "move around" when I try to remove them with a MF. I tried both Clearkote QD and Optimum Quick Detailer but neither one had enough bite to cut through this residue. Even my wife, who doesn't notice much about cars, asked why it looked like the hood was covered with oily streak marks.

Any idea what I can do to rid the hood of this oily residue?

I hate to have to strip it down and start again. And if I do, what's to prevent this from happening again? Did I apply one (or both) of the products to thick (I always err on the thinner side). Did I perhaps not let the CMW haze up enough before I removed it? Would another coat of CMW help get rid of this film??

I never had this problem when using RMG in the past. But this is the first time I have followed it with CMW (actually this is the first time I have used CMW) and now I'm left with this oil all over the hood. The remainder of the car looks ok. Some spots did have a slight oily "haze" here and there but I was able to remove it with QD.

Any help would be appreciated.

Just wash the car, problem solved.

What you might want to try the next time is after applying RMG, pull the car in the sun for 20 minutes or so, let the heat dispensate the oils in it. Make sure you apply CMW thinly, then pull back into the sun and wipe down any areas that may re-haze. Should be good to go after that. Just kind of how it is with high oil glazes and high carnauba content products.
