new audi a6 metallic silver...

been reading alot on clearkote products. i've used liquid souveran and its a nice easy product to use but lasts about as only a little longer than a qd imho. i hear 845 is good but the clearkote is something even better?

wondering if the vanilla moose glaze is really worth using first before the clearkote wax. i hand apply everything right now but as an autopian always trying to kick it up a notch!

also, i'd like your thoughts on the quickshine as well...

any words of wisdom for this ocd-suffering detailer?

thanks in advance.

Clearkote makes some really solid products. The Carnauba Moose Wax is easy on-easy off. Produces a nice, deep, wet finish. Expect 2+ months durability. (I know that Scottwax has posted that he get's atleast 3 months durability from CMW. I never doubt that Man's opinion!) You can never go wrong using Vanilla Moose or RMG prior to CMW. In fact, combine the 2 to make "pink moose". Pink Moose/CMW combo is mouth watering on my black paint. Quikshine is a top notch QD, IMO. It's one of my favorites. No Streaking what so ever. Deepens the look of the paint as well. The Clearkote products are well worth the price! Give them a shot. You won't be disappointed.

Oops!! I meant pink moose. I had to edit my previous post. Long day, what can i say. lol FK Pink wax is another nice carnauba.

Good stuff. I love Clearkote Carnauba Moose Wax. Personally, I prefer Danase Wet Glaze over Vanilla or Red Moose prior to the CMW. Danase Wet Glaze adds an amazing wetness. Either way, you will love it. The Quickshine is a good QD, but if you really want to add serious gloss (especially on metallic paint) and make your paint really slick, try FK 425, it goes well with carnaubas.

"Pink" Moose and CMW will have a very similar look on silver.

Carnauba Moose is my go to wax.

wow scott...those pictures sold me...can i get away with just the vanilla moose and carnuba wax?

question is will i still get that type effect applying by hand?

and do you use quik shine as well as an inbetween booster?

those look nice, is carnauba moose more of a cream/liquid?

Creamy liquid, I guess.

ricka-VM/CMW will work just fine. I believe I did that car by hand, so you should be fine. I do use Quikshine after washing and for glass.

sorry, one more question;

what is the difference between clearkote moose wax and clearkote carnauba wax? which one are you talking about scott?

okay, that was two questions....

thanks much

pardon me ,

but i read somewhere that either one of them has mild abrasives and the other none.

which one's which ?

im assuming if the paint / base is in good condition , can I skip the part , not use the abrasive one and go straight to the non abrasive wax ? i will be doing all by hand ...

and where online offers the best deal for clearkote products ?

Moose Wax is a cleaner wax with no abrasives, Carnauba Moose Wax has no cleaners.

I've found Danase.com has got the Clearkote range discounted. Not all the products show up under the correct headings, so use the search box and you'll find what your looking for. Also many great products in his 'clearance' page. Danase is a great vendor. :bigups

been reading up on the clearkote vanilla glaze and danase wet glaze. i have used meguiar's #5 and #7 glazes while a repainted hood cured. found meguiar's to be a pain in the ###. tough to remove and stinks to high heaven.

what are the differences with the Vanilla Glaze and Danase Glazes? God I hope they work better and smell at least tolerable.

thanks again

VM smells like vanilla and is vanilla white, and DWG smells like grape and is grape purple. True. :)

Both are easier to work with, especially by machine. They just melt into the paint with very little left to wipe off.
