What would be the best and most safe
cleaner for tinted windows ?
I purchased some Eagle 20/20,but have
yet to use it.
I have decided not to use it,untill I get
some feedback from all the pro's here
at DC !

Thanks................
Steve

I have tint film on my truck and have been using Turtle Wax Clear Vue Window cleaner (local auto parts stores). It says it is safe for tint and I have had no problems in over a year now.

Anything marked as "tint safe".
Stoners is popular, as is many others.
Just make sure it is ammonia free...

Almost as important as the product you use is the thing you remove it with. Tint will scratch so use something soft like a mf to remove the cleaner.

You're right about that one...,
Maybe even MORE important:)

I would have said more important but if you used the wrong product it could melt the tint. that is faar worse than any scratching.

either way, it would have to be replaced..., at least for me- I hate scratches...
Melting tint? LOL!!!
I don't know of any window cleaner that will melt tint, not that I have tried them all, just never heard of it..., unless you were using acid as a cleaner:)

Unless you have a particular stain or glob of something on the film, I think a damp MF would work without any cleaners at all. That way you don't have to risk gradual deterioration of the film due to cleaners. Maybe use the Stoners the first time just to get it to sparkle and then just the damp MF for the next few months.

I like using Plexus on my tinted windows. It is not only safe but also cleans, polishes ( solvent type) and adds protection so that grime, especially hazy film, does not reoccur as quickly. This protectant acts like a lube ( adds slickness) so that any window motion ( up/down) is creating less hindance ( ie. friction) and seems to protect tint from damage. It is also great in reducing fog on those raining days. Plexus makes your tint sparkle like new (detailed not just clean). I do this about every other month using a MF towel. Between these treatments I just wipe down with a damp MF.
By the way my tint is over 5 years old and still looks like new.

:D
