Cleaning the inside of lenses?

What do you guys use to clean the inside of headlight/turn signal/fog lenses? The inside of my fathers turn signals are disgusting and really need a good cleaning but its kinda hard to get any tools in there to scrub away at the caked on dirt. What would be a good product to put in there and shake around to eat away the dirt?

You realize those lenses should be sealed and therefore shouldn't be getting dirt in them. In addition to cleaning them, you should identify the bad seal and replace it so you don't have to be cleaning them all the time.

I do understand that, however, it looks like the dirt may have accumulated by entering through the 2 (what I consider) rather large drain holes in them. The truck is 11 years old, so it i'm sure this is all 11 years worth of dirt being slowly drawn into them.

Ok, sorry. You're going to want to be careful with this, otherwise you may wind up with a bunch of condensation that will be difficult to get out. I would think that any mild APC would work fine, or car wash, dish detergent, Woolite, etc. Ideally, you will want two openings, so that you can blow the water out after you are done by blowing in one opening (with an air compressor, shop vac exhaust [clean], or perhaps even a leaf blower) and letting the water come out the other one.

Spray some APC and a little water inside and then add crushed ice. Shake,shake,shake............all clean. Worked well for me!
