I just did 2 rigs. One on the 3rd and one on the 4th, (he wanted to pay extra for coming in on my day off) with a TON of road paint on the side.
Did you ever get this resolved? How did you get it off?
The ones I worked on had splatter up to 1/16th of an inch in some spots on the nerf bars. I used a chissle to get off the top few layers, then used liquid wrench to loosen up the outer layers. Once I was able to scrape that off with an old credit card, (the SmittyBuilt nerf bars are VERY prone to scratching) I used Goof Off to take off the rest of the paint with a rag. They came out 100%. My first customer was PUMPED as it was his son's immaculate Cevy Tahoe and his son is in the military and let him borrow the rig.
Anyway, I was just curious if you got this resolved and what were your methods? Both trucks took me about 7 hours and I'd love to get some quicker results as this seems to be a recurring theme in the town I work in.
