Cleaning Prius Windows

I've done two details on them in the last couple of weeks and no matter which brand window cleaner I use I have to re-do them three times with a lot of muscle.



They seem to leave a 'film' after wiping them down with glass cleaner, actually scrubbing using a Stoner reach tool with a Huck towel draped over it, that's impossible to remove. I find after spraying and scrubbing, I have to buff like mad and repeat till I'm blue in the face.



Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this with the Prius.

Try your detail spray vs. glass cleaner.

Must be warm down there and the vinyl is really off gassing.

Pre-spray them with your all purpose cleaner, let it dwell for a minute or so, wipe it off, doesn't have to be perfectly wiped off, just wipe off most of it.

Then mist with your glass cleaner and finish up the glass using your fresh huck towels.

The APC will break down the off gassing film due to the surfactants in the APC that are not in glass cleaners.

I know it's way old school, but on problem cars I use a ton of window cleaner and a squeegee, sometimes 2 or 3 times. Otherwise you are pushing the grime/film around. Meg's glass cleaner is easily the best glass cleaner I've used, not sure if that is one you have tried.

I thought of APC after I had struggled thru two passes; but from now on ...

To fess up, on DD Details I use the ProForce stuff from Sams Club (which I think works more then OK) and I did SOAK all the glass and scrubbed with probly a total of eight huck towels. But in the end, I did use Megs to finish it off.

Be careful! Too much liquid and you could short out the batteries. Bzzzzzzttttttt!
