Cleaning MF towel?

How often do you clean your mf towels? More or less talking about the ones used to remove polish and wax. I am no pro only have my 2 cars I take care of. Could I use the mf towel to do both cars and then store it or should I put all the mf towels used in the wash that same day?

I'm also washing everything right after I finish the work, but just wondering, is it bad for MF's if they are not washed the same day?

Since I only have a few of them (newbie), I wash them by hand, with slightly warm water, and after that, just hang them. (don't hang them on heater, 'cause MF's can be damaged because of heat!)

I'm no pro, but if I only have a few I hand wash them in the sink with warm water and woolite (you could use dreft). cold rinse at least 2 times really well and either hang dry or tumble low. If I have a bunch of MF, I put them in the machine on a gentle cycle using the same detergent (woolite) warm/cold setting and tumble dry low.

Nothing else goes in the wash with it, no dish towels, no bath towels, no socks etc...already made the mistake of having my kids socks in there and little bits of playground mulch loves to work itself into the MF.

I will sometimes wash the same day but I have a sealed rubbermaid container I will keep MF I have used for polishing or QD and then wash them the next day. I always wash the towels after one use.

you can store them dirty (as far as they are wax towels)

I just find a little more difficult to get really dirty mf (used for rims etc) clean if left some time but no big problrm.

I usually machine wash right after I'm done using them. Make sure to use a liquid detergent and use the delicates option.

I use the liquid detergent with no dyes or perfumes in it, for wheel, wax, and interior towels. My window towels get only bleach and hot water wash. I dry them in the dryer, and as I use them the next time I run my hand over them to check for burnt fibers( have only found them twice). I buy ten dozen towels at a time, and replace them all once a month. I buy them in 4 different colors so that I never use a towel for multiple tasks.

you guys are a little crazy with your mf's. i wash them in hot water with regular detergent, no softener. if they are really dirty i will do second cycle with detergent and throw a little bit a white vinegar in the rinse cycle to help shed some of the detergent.

they come out fine.

before i knew better, i used to wash them like clothes, with softener any everything and i still never had a problem (i actually may try softener again because i think they actually came out better, but apparently this is a big no no...i never had a problem with it). i dry them in the dryer too.

the only thing i did that i would never do again is have something else in the wash with them. if you have anything in there besides another MF it will get lint and other things all inside your towels.

i think one time i got a paper towel in the wash with my MF's and it got all over and was nearly impossible to get out of the towels.

With wax towels and interior towels softeners want hurt them, infact they make them soft. NOw if you are using these towels to driy off cars don't ever use softener. They want absorb the water and they will be useless. Might as well use the Cali Blade. So if you need towels to absorb water or QD, stay away from the softener.

Sunday, I washed my Sat detail towels and didn't see the leaf that somehow got in there. What a pain in the a**. I have been picking out pieces of leaves for two days. Talk about leaving swirls and marring. Just run a towels with leaf particles stuck in it over a Bentley. NOt much fun on Monday.
