Cleaning matte black wheel

I got HRE p40 in texture black. I am wondering what is the best way to take care of them. Should I use wheel wax on them? Is it ok to use quick detail when drying the wheel? Lastly, I am getting water spot on the inside of the wheel after washing, what is the best way to get rid and prevent them.

Thank you

Clean often with mild soap and water. Don't let the dirt/grime build up. Use soft brushes to get into the tight areas. NO WAX OR SEALANT EVER!

DON'T use poliseal, or anything with polishing abilities. I uh, found this out with my matte finish wheels, and now have one semi-gloss wheel.

I did use some Opti Seal without major issues.

Welcome to Autopia!

Most water spots are just mineral deposits from you water. Using a CRS deionizing system would solve that problem (at a considerable expense!).

What is the exact finish, is it anodizing?

The last set of HREs I had were black anodized, and I used Griot's Wheel Cleaner on them with zero problems.

I'm trying to remember....this has been a few years...but I'm pretty sure I never waxed/sealed them, but rather used a QD to give them just a *little* bit of a sheen, pretty much just enough to make them look "a bit cleaner than clean".

the color is similar to this one...most of the problems are when i finish washing them...fresh water spots remain on the inside of the wheel where i cant reach them....you guy think I should stay away from sealant and waxes?

If you have an air compressor, just blow the water off with that.

I'd probably skip the waxes/etc. and just use a good wheel cleaner with maybe a QD afterwards.
