Cleaning interior tomorrow, suggestions?

Ok, so I have a $25 gift card to advance auto that I want to use up, so on the way home tomorrow I'm going to pick up whatever I'll need. I already have 303 for the dash, I just need something for the floor mats, seats, and carpet. I have a shop vac too if that matters, so feel free to make any suggestions or give advice. My dash is pretty clean already, I'm just focused more on the upholstery. There are no major stains.

Thanks

For spot cleaning try a can of Resolve from the supermarket. It's worked pretty well for me on floor mats and spot removal on carpets and seats.

I think most of the foamy type cleaners will work decently on light interior dirt so maybe pick up a couple different ones and try them out.

I assume you have glass cleaner and brushes and stuff like that....

Thanks. I just ran out of the Prestone stuff, so I'll probably get more of that or try some Blue Coral if they have it.

Eagle 20/20 glass

I would use resolve for the stains (walmart)

Bissel or Hover steam vac cleaning solution + hot water for shampooing (walmart)

also pickup some scotch guard for protecting the finish (pricey ata about $8/can)

Woolite and water. You can use it on everything in the interior. A quart will cost you about $5 and by cutting it 6:1 with water, you have a gallon and a half of a terrific but gentle cleaner.

Where do I get it?

Thanks Scott!

I'll second the Woolite .. get a good spray bottle for it .. That stuff still amazes me on what I can do with it.

Also buy white shop terry towels to use with it .. Spritz the stain .. aggitate with towel .. walla .. gone.

Target, Walmart, any grocery store would have it. Get the liquid laundry detergent version. I've been using it as my primary interior cleaner for years. I also like the upholstry shampoo I get from my pro distributer, but Woolite works just as well and is safe for leather (and in fact, wool safe detergents are recommended now by Lexus for leather cleaning).

Meguiar's carpet cleaner is great on spot stains. I've had it remove old stains in carpeting in cars and around the house.

Turtle Wax makes some foam cleaner that seems to work well, i usually do the foam cleaner then spray the area with water and wet vac it out. Seems to work pretty well. Doesn't get everything out, but it gets about 90% of the stuff out.

Do you guys use the Woolite for dark colors on dark interiors, or doesnt it matter? I have a charcoal interior, and was wondering if it mattered which i used. I have used reg woolite in the past, but the new "dark color" woolite has got me thinking...

My understanding of the Woolite for dark colors is that it has a neutralizer for the chlorine and such that's found in much of the city treated water used to wash clothes. It's like the Cheer with Color Guard and stuff. I don't think it affects the cleaning, just helps to prevent fading.

i also agree w/ the Woolite. I heard about it here a few days ago and what-do-ya-know ... my mom has a bottle under the sink! So between a combination of me being a) bored and b) figuring the extra brownie points wouldn't hurt ... i detailed my mom's accord's interior and used woolite for EVERYTHING ... and to my surprise ... its works -- on EVERYTHING. Good stuff and very versitile. Once again ... autopia saves the day
