Cleaning interior carpeting, am I nuts?

I used to own a carpet cleaning business. Car interiors are a pain in the you know what, so when people ask, I politely say Im not a carpet cleaner, Im a car detailer. No desire to clean carpet in a car.

Wait a minute, you're a detailer that won't clean carpets?

It is possible without an extractor. Carpets aren't my favorite thing either, but it comes with the territory. Gotta do what it takes to make the vehicle look good, inside and out.

I like to vacuum

then a bucket of water/woolite mix

wash the carpet with a damp mitt, rinsing frequently

it allows you to get under the seats, the rails, between the seats and sills/tunnel, etc.

then vac and dry with a towel

it's fast and looks good

Yeah you never want to get your carpets too wet or else it will be a ***** to get out but you want to lightly spray them with a steamer or whatever, spray yóur solution, scrub scrub, and then steam/suck it out with a steamer (which are very expensive, luckly I work at a car wash so I get it all for free :))
