cleaning dirty door jams

Any suggestions for a lube that is longlasting and dries to a wax (not greasy) or with minimal/clear residue to clean up?

I guess silicone lubricant would be a good choice. However, it doesn't last as long as white lithium grease.

How do you use a steamer to clean the doorjams. Is there any page's on how to use one. Never used a steam, but where can you get one and how do they looks.

You can look online for some pictures, but you basically steam the surface and wipe it down. Fairly simple...

Here's the one I got: KleenJet Ultra 1500C



The steam softens/emulsifies may types of dirt and the pressure helps blast it off the surface. Gotta give some thought to where it gets blasted *to* though

Citrus degreaser and water on the really dirty ones.

Hey I got a steam cleaner today, cause I wanted to check it out. Just wonder if any of you have tried the Shark steam cleaner ???
