Cleaning buffing towels

I just waxed my car for the first time and may have used too much wax. The microfiber towels where getting wax matted in them as I was removing the wax. I accually had to stop and go buy 2 more during the job. Did I put the waz on too thick? Also what can I do to clean the wax that is matted into the towels? I tried washing them in the washer, but some is still there and I hate to trow them aways since I just got them. Thanks for the support.

Did you use warm / hot water to wash them?

I'm no expert but maybe soaking them in a stronger detergent (ie. dish soap) and hot water will help loosen the wax from the towel... I dunno, just an idea!

Yeah, I would try some Dawn dishwashing detergent and hot water. Could even let them soak in a mixture of that in a bucket for awhile before throwing them in the washer.
