Cleaning A Lambs Wool Wash Mit

AMDin93103

I like cheese.
I can't get the dirt and bugs to release out of the mit. I tried searching this board and hosing the inside, everything.

Can I just throw it a wash with a bunch of whites on cold and hang dry it or will that deteriorate the pile? I wouldn't want to mix it with my car towels for threat of chemicals a mixin'.

Psssstue......Treat like any other sheepskin/lambswool.....dont put in an agitating machine, you may have to manualy remove the bugs (EEEWWWWWW)......Other than that, soak in some warm water with woolite, and just wring out until the dirt is released....In the future, try rinsing it between panels while washing your car, try not to "build" up dirt on it....

I toss mine in the wash on delicate (I dont' wash it with anything else because everything else would come out all hairy). That works fine for me. It may shorten the life of them a bit, but I still easily get a year or more from them. That's long enough for me. I'm not sure I want to use a wash implement for too much longer than that.

As an aside, my Meguiar's mitt is holding up the best so far, and the Autopia one is holding up well too. The CMA one (the whitish, not the black) is not doing so well. I got them all at right around the same time (the Meg's is actually the oldest). But I think the Meg's is a bit of a rip. $13 for basically a $5 mitt. If I could find some SM Arnold mitts (that's who makes the Meg's one) locally for $5 or so, they would be a steal, but not for the price Meg's charges.

I do what Patrick says too, though. I try to manually remove any bugs or crud while washing, as soon as they get in the mitt.

I think I am going to try to pick out the crud and then swirl it (a meg's btw) in Woolite in the sink :up I live in a condo complex and don't have my own washer/dryer so it'll cost me $1.25 to clean it. Not a lot but I'd have to wait until my alotted time on Tuesday afternoon
