Cleaned the Z up and Had photoshoot done

JP in my opinion you are not ignorant it is someone that would take a car and waste precious resources like gas and rubber to do nothing other than slid around sideways all the time.
To me this is NOT a sport it is just a total waste of resource's.

But If drifting is then So is NASCAR, NHRA,World of Outlaws, Dirt bike Racing,Rally Racing,Indy Racing, 24hr Rolex<----- (extreme waste of resources)

This takes a lot of skill to master it's not just driving in a circle over and over again for 400miles. I said the same thing up till last December then i went to my first event and have been in love ever since. You need to stop and realize all the other waste of resources before you judge just one. For example take a Top fuel dragster It has a 10 gallon fuel cell by the time it goes 1/4 mile in a line that tank is empty and they change the tires and throw them away after only 8-10 runs. Where as in drifting I can go on track and get 60+ laps on 4 tires and some won't even start with more than 70% tread and not use half a tank of fuel the cars that use the most fuel at drift events are the American "muscle" cars that "try" to drift, they burn a lot of fuel and spin the tires to the point they don't last long. Remember we're talking about Imports no gas guzzling V-8's.

Totally agree with you on Nascar - I live about ten minutes from Talladega motor speedway. Talk about the freaks and rednecks.... WHEW! Twice a year, it's like the circus rejects rolled into town.

I still think drifting is stupid pointless a waste of time and resources.
It is not a race it is not anything other than a contest to see have much rubber you can waste.:crazy2:

The only thing worse would be a burn out contest.

Drifting is not a race in any sense of the word.
The winner is decided by judges not buy crossing a set finish line.
Its simply a way to make a slow car seem fun.

And it takes a hell of a lot more skill to make it through a 500 miles race at 200mph surrounded by 43 other cars than sliding a slow car around.

SLow huh go watch formula D i highly doubt you have the balls to enter a corner at 90+mph sideways

I spent 6 years behind the wheel of a sprint car mostly on half mile dirt track and when you are doing 135MPH sideways into a turn with a car just a few inches away trying to pass and you have 880 HP in a 1200 lb car it requires far more balls than drifting a underpowered Rice Grinder

How many times have you pulled the front tire off the ground at 100mph in your drifting car.
If you enjoy drifting fine but don't try to compare it to
REAL RACING

For some this may be an interesting hobby but I honestly don't believe this can be considered racing by any traditional definition. Contest? Yes. Racing? Well I've given my opinion. Going sideways spinning tires certainly isn't anything new. Any driver living where ice and snow are common has experienced this thrill, intentionally or otherwise. Nothing wrong with it as an interest or hobby anymore than someone spending time collecting stamps. An interesting side note is that in most forms of racing the participants are tying their best to conserve rubber rather than shed it. I'm also with the poster that mentioned a burnout contest, for me it's totally pointless. If you've seen a burnout contest you've seen them all.

Well we do try yo conserve rubber by comparing tire life and finding a brand that will last long for a reasonable price
