Clean The Driveway

I know this has nothing to do with detailing cars but it has to do with detailing my driveway. I got a couple of oil stains on it and really can't get them removed.

I have tried:
Soak in bleach and pressure wash
Soak in neurotic acid and pressure wash
Soak in Driveway Cleaner and pressure wash

I also scrubbed all these products before pressure washing. The only one that really seem to do anything is the acid but still didn't really do to much. I know that it works better on the smooth driveways and my driveway is concrete.

So has anyone come across anything that really works?
 
only thing i have found is a heavy duty engine degreaser like foaming gunk engine degreaser, also sometimes paint thinner, i never have gotten all the stains out but the greasey oil is gone ? good luck keep us posted
 
Very interested in this post as under my carport its that smooth concrete but I cant seem to find anything totally gets rid of the oil spots. I have used a lot of stuff to soak it and it gets rid of the darkness somewhat, but Im wanting to get it back to that nice white finish.
 
i just had a thought about this, maybe some of the cleaners that are used to prep a concrete surface for an epoxy coating will remove them, check with some garage floor coating sites like ucoatit.com :dunno
 
Muratic acid actually etches the surface of the concrete, and changes the surface, leaving it more porous (and vulnerable)than before. Fine if prepping for paint, but...

You might want to try a strong base cleaner like Castrol Super Clean Degreaser , available locally (Walmart etc.) or if it is only a few spots of oil some EO A2Z wheel cleaner. Work these in with an old scrub brush, then pressure wash. Repeat as necessary. Only recommending this for concrete drives, NOT asphalt.

Out of desperation brought on by a full 10qt oil change pan careless left in the path of my Saab's right front wheel, I used gojo hand cleaner to clean my garage floor. Just slopped it liberally on the floor and sponged it around. I let it sit for a while then hosed it off. Not only did it get up the film from the fresh spill but it removed several stains. I had not tried to remove the stains before so I make no claims that gojo is a magic cleaner.

You really should consider re-sealing 9concete sealant) that area for protection after using the above products you have used or in a few years you are going to notice a deterioration of that area and will have to repair at some time.
