Clean pad with alcohol

I just got a Polishing Pal. I am using the Lake Country 4 Blue Finessing Pads. I will be using the pads to apply Zaino Z2 and using it for Megs M80. Can I use Isoproplyl 70% alcohol to get the Zaino out of the pad ? Will the alcohol harm the velco adhesive or chemically attack the pad ? I doubt the recommend Dawn would dissolve the Zaino Z2 (even before it dried out) ? Thanks

Hey dude, No_One_Knows if alcohol will harm a pad.

Well the hell you say ???

Dude, you will be the first person to ever try tis daring endevor :rofl

So, I will maybe post after this weekend to let all you other people know if I destroyed one of my pads by cleaning it in alcohol. :furious:

Does anyone know if I can drink Iso Alcohol... I need a drink... :ignore

I use alcohol to clean my Z2/Z5 hand applicator pads but I've never used a PC to apply Zaino so I can't say what will happen.

I really can't imagine alcohol affecting the pad backing glue though...

You really should use different pads for the Z and M80 - mixing those two would be less than ideal. M80 is an abrasive cleaner and you REALLY don't want that in with the Z as you apply it.

Thanks CoryB.

I will give the alcohol a try tomorrow. I am washing the new pads now in the washing machine to see how the pad reacts to the washer.

I tested using the blue finishing pad to apply the M80 on a plastic CD Jewel case. I can't believe how much easier it is to work the M80 with the blue finishing pad !!!!! In the past, I applied M80 by hand with a folded microfiber. The MF required a lot of rubbing to work the M80 down. With the pad on the Polishin' Pal, I work it a little and BAM - it's done. Much less work and getting much better results !!!! I reget not getting the Polishin' Pal sooner.

:getdown Oh, Oh, let me answer, let me answer, I know the answer. :woohoo:

Ok, I found that the pad can safely be rinsed in alcohol. The pads seem to had suffered NO harm. :spot
