Clean Edge Detailed another black 350Z

So I have always loved this Z and how aggressive it is, especially after the new wheels and for how SLAMMED it is. The one thing always hurting it was how incredibly swirled the paint was. That much swirling really takes away from the look of a car. You can have an absolutley amazing car but if it's swirled up really bad, it just takes away from the car. So with HIN coming up, Neil and I were FINALLY able to set up a time to bet this beast taken care of!

I'd like to send a huge thanks to Chris for helping some with this detail. Chris had seen the last Z I did and offered up some help if I ever needed it and with the baby here and all, I hate spending ALL weekend doing cars. So I saw some pics Chris had posted here and liked his work too and asked if he'd lend a hand and he did. So later in the day on Friday he came over and polished part of the car and then I polished the rest on Saturday. Here's the basic process....

Washed her up with Megs Gold class

Wheels were cleaned with Meguiar’s All Purpose Cleaner Plus

Clayed the car with Meguiars clay

polished car with Menzerna SIP, 106FF, and Meguiars M105

1 Layer of Danase Wet Glaze

Sealed the car with Ultima Paint Guard Plus

Waxed car with P21S

Wiped car down with Zaino Z-8

Engine was cleaned with Megs All Purpose Cleaner and CD2 Engine Detailer

Tires were finished off with Zaino Z-16

Spokes on wheels were done with Wheel Wax and wheels were polished with Meguiar’s NXT All Metal Polish.

So here's the pics!

Here's a pic of the carbon fiber hood. Notice how the sun reflecting is more of a blob than a crisp reflection?

Polishing the hood wasn't easy because you couldn't use a lot of pressure or you'd crack it. Here it is after polishing, you can see how the suns reflection is much more crisp and pin pointed.

Here's a half & half shot. Top half not polished, bottom polished

Here's the hatch before...ouch!

Here's a pic of part of the carbon fiber front lip. Notice again how the reflection is more of a blob opposed to a crisp reflection.

Here it is after. We couldn't believe how all the carbon fiber totally came back to life after being polished.

Here is the engine before. It wasn't really bad. I just gave everything a good scrubbing, polished the carbon fiber pieces, waxed the intake and polished the strut bar with mothers metal polish.

nice job once again! i like the rims, but can't say i'm a fan of the CF body kit though...

Thanks Big Al. now...SAY WHAT????? I can honestly say you are the first to ever say they weren't a fan of the body kit...it's SICK!!!

Great detail!

The owner should swap in the 06+ head and tail lights, I'm a fan of the car in the stock form with a lip. However I can't be one to judge since I used to have an 08 NISMO Z

Ahhh... such a good job until the wheels, you didn't get the barrels!

That ok, like the post above, I am not a fan of cleaning the insides of them; I mainly do only my personal vehicles.

Actually we did hit the barrels but they just would clean up without spending a LOT more time on them and it was time the owner didn't have.

Damn that looks good!! Great job!

What setting to have your P&S camera on to get such nice pics...I'm jelous!

Thanks! as for the camera setting...I have no idea!! Haha, someone else said the quality looked great and wanted to know what I did. Come to think of it, I'd like to know what I did too, haha.

I can tell you it's an Olympus SP-310 7.1 mp

Depends on what circles you run in.

A couple of other car web boards I frequent would dislike it, too. :nixweiss

That said, I think the car looks great overall--especially after that detail. The stance on it is killer.
