Claymagic'd the old black acura today...white spots on paint everywhere?

Today I clay bar'd my entire car with the Claymagic and supplied detailing spray (1997 acura cl with original flamenco black pearl paint), and had some interesting discoveries after claying/thoroughly drying off each section. This car has never been machine detailed nor 'truly polished' in its 11 years on this earth, and I was of course expecting the typical horrid marring/swirling associated with brush washes and neglect (from my parents, the previous owners). Well, I uncovered plenty of that, especially on the hood (looks absolutely terrible...some spots its hard to even see the black under the marring/swirling).

However, one thing that did surprise me was after claying/wiping off each section, there were these faint 'white spots' blotching the paint...and I mean EVERYWHERE. None of these were evident before claying. Mind you, I wash/wax my car every 2 weeks, so probably these were just imperfections lying beneath all that 'nuba. But does anyone have any idea what these white spots are? It kind of worries me...as I tried using a sonus pro applicator sponge with the orange side and sonus sfx2 by hand (just to gauge it) and could not remove any of the white spots. : /

Tomorrow I'm going to assault this paint with sonus polish and the ol' 7424...for the first time. Do you think I should just start out with SFX1 polish on an orange lc pad and follow that up with sfx2 on a white? I heard sfx3 isn't really necessary.

But I'm just really worried about these white spots covering the entire vehicle.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

no, definitely not rock chips, as it covers the entire car, and they're not 'pits' or chips in the paint

it looks more to me like hard dried water spots...im talking...over the entire car...not one inch uncovered. think just zillions of tiny faded white spots everywhere....i sure hope sfx1 + orange will get this stuff out : (

Just some ideas...hard water spots from sprinklers or wash water left to dry, acid rain damage, remnants of bird poop etching or tree sap over the life of the car.

Depending on how "tiny" they are, it might be acid rain. Otherwise, it could be hard water spots. Either way, you'll have your work cut out for you removing them. Pics would be very helpful.
