That looks crazy, if a piece got stuck, you'd be grinding it against the paint.

Yep, I'll never use one. Claying is something you need feel to. The PC would take all the feel out of claying.

Its one of those things that everyone here cringes at when they see or think about it ... However it would not suprise me if it worked rather well when put to the test!

Anyone care to offer up their Paint so we can give it a test!!!! ?

Um no .. actually ... I would take one to my Beater car though! its a 98 sable that has some CC failure in some areas but I would do it for testing pourposes!

Are any of our Detail City Sponsors willing to toss one of these pads my driection for testing pourposes? Im not going to pay for something if it destroys my cars finnish!

I've actually used it on a rotary.
No joke.
At the dealership I work for someone traded in a car with real bad overspray on it. We were claying it by hand and it was a real bear. He had that clay system thing laying around for probaby almost a year. (still in the package never opened) We figured why not give it a shot. It actually worked really well. U have to turn the speed down as far as it will go and u also have to make frequent stops to reposition the clay after it gets spun outta round. For the most part though how hard is it to clay by had. In extreme conditions i would recommend it but for your average detail no way. It would probably be quicker to clay by hand then to keep readjusting the clay in the pad.
