claying windows

I just got done washing my bronco and figured I would try claying the wind shield...I tried driving while the truck was still wet. to my suprise the water that splashed up onto the wind shield beaded up and rolled off as if there was rain-x on it.



oh yeah...no streaks or smears either.
 
What did you use as a clay lubricant? I bet it was a quick detailer and left some mild protection. I found the same thing and was surprised when I first used clay.
 
I clay the windows when I see alot of crap on the paint. The QD spray was what made the rain bead up, will come off in a few washings or less.

Its a good time to look for window wax or rain X as you have set the window up for protection.
 
hmm, I don't recall that I put it to a longevity test. It was on my paint, so I covered it with wax right away.
