Clay - Water or ?

I bought some Clay Magic Clay Bar and Lube, I had enough lube to do about 2 cars.

Today I was detailing a car, and I ran out of lube. :(

What do you guys use for lube? I hear Water/Soap is a good combo, but Quick Detailer+Clay would that be better? or would it break down the clay bar?

I plan to buy Poorboys Clay Bar next, any advice would be great.

Quick detailing sprays work well will clay. I've also used car shampoo, though I believe some people have had clay bars disintegrate when doing that.

I've used soapy water in the past. But a lot of the cars I do I have to do outside in the sun and the soap always seemed to dry and leave spots and streaks faster than the quick detailers / clay lubricants do so you just have to make sure to wipe the panels down before it dries.

Some shampoos and some clays are incompatible, the clay dissolves pretty fast. This not only compromises its effectiveness, but also results in a lot of clay residue left on the vehicle.
