Clay on water spots

Hello,

My nephew's Honda Civic has water stains on the roof. Washing/waxing hasn't sovled the problem so I was wondering, would using a clay bar on it remove the stains? Thanks in advance and Happy Thanksgiving.

Clay may or may not work, if you want you could try a 50/50 vinegar/water mix
If that doesn't work then you could try something like SSR1, it depends on how baked the stains are into the paint.

I've never used the vinegar mixture but have heard that it works. It just depends on how baked in the spots are . Once you get them off make sure wax every month from now on.

How would one use the vinegar mix? Just wipe it on, let it dwell then wash off?
I mix it up on a spray bottle, and use it like a QD, then do a regular wash.
I used it more when I had my boat, than I have on my car.

People don't realize how strong vinegar is. If you ever read a white vinegar bottle it states that it is 5% acidic. It will pull the rust off of bolts of you leave it in there for a day or do.

That's absolutely true, when I'm doing a full once over on the vavles on the tuba I set everything that comes off of the horn into a container with 1:1 vinegar/water mix. It really breaks up the corrosion that builds up in old horns.
