Clay Magic Question?

I called the Canadian distributor for Clay Magic here to order some bars.

He asked me which one "blue or red"?

Knowing that there were different grades I asked what the difference was and he said blue is for dark colored cars and red is for light colored cars

??????

I asked what color has to do with it (residue?) and he said "light colored cars won't show micro scratches".

Hhhmmmm....well I don't think I want micro scratches in my silver car either!

The website only has one color - blue.

So what should I do?

The guy you talked to sounds like a winner. The blue bar is for "normal" claying. The red bar is for heavy overspray and is more agressive. For normal stuff the blue bar is the way too go. :xyxthumbs

Thanks Showroom!

Ya....he sounded like a winner.

I thought that was the way to go so I will call him back after checking here.

I was surprised that they had a distributor in Canada.

That's strike two, Showroom. If you steal my thoughts through some weird alien ray one more time today then we are going to have words.... ;)

That advice is right on the money. Just use the blue one unless your car has been sitting under a tree for 6 months collecting sap and bird bombs. The red is more aggressive for tougher jobs. Chances are that if you have a job that requires the red bar then you are going to have to whip out a polisher to do the job right eventuntually anyway. A few small micro scratches that the red bar makes will just get polished up with the rest of them.

SL is right on and Jngrbrdman is right on too with the chance of the red bar leaving slight marring due to its cutting power.

DETAILKING pointed me to a good source for the full size 200 gram clay magic bars with plastic containers (the company even put in a sandwich bag into each container for storage of the clay after use, great idea!) for $19 a bar. $61.50 for 3 bars (two fine grade (blue) and one medium grade (red)) shipping was only $4.50 ordered yesterday got it today.

Here goes some pictures of the clay

Thats the container I got with my clay magic and I still use it for my new bars as well....aint the clay guy kinda looking like GUMBY?

Like Gumpy's little brother, shorter and with a little more weight, and or course different colors. Blue is for Bilumpy and Red is for Stefumpy.

Well I am going to order a couple in the box.

It looks about twice as big as the Mothers bar - does that sound about right?

The guy in Canada said there was a law suit or something where Clay Magic was trying to protect their rights.

Does anyone know anything about that?
