Clay is so expensive!!

I use only Clay Magic clay. Which I have been buying from the same store for over a year now. Today I went in to buy my usual 200-gram bar and the store raised the price from $24.95 to $29.95. When I talked to the owner and told her I have been paying $24.95 for the past year. She said they made a mistake from the start and this is the price she should have been charging. After going back and forth I told she has lost my business. I should of just bought the clay but I was mad. The only reason she is selling so much is because of me. The problem I have now is I have A bike detail tomorrow and three cars over the weekend. I don’t have the time to order it off line and I looked all over but couldn’t find it in any near by stores. I could use Mothers but I prefer Clay Magic.

Check local paint supply shops. They often carry clay and other auto care produts. Many of them are Meguiar's and 3M distributors.

AutoZone is a Clay Magic distributor, but I don't know where else you could find it. I think I've seen it at WalMart from time to time, but its not a constant enough thing to go too far out of your way for it.

That's a bit much.
Sorry I can't help you, but you're right not to buy from there anymore.
I've heard plenty of good things about Mothers clay so it probably wouldn't hurt to use it just once.

ZIGSGT,
Call Mark at PAL Automotive in Piscataway NJ. Shipping to Pa. should be pretty cheap. He has Automagic clay products at a good price.

Top of the line has some 8oz bars for $15.95. I've used them a few times and was please. I recently picked up 4 200 gram bars (shining monkey) for $9 each from danase on a clearance special (reg $14). I still think clay costs too much.

I have the Automagic Detailing Clay. It is a bit smaller at 180 grams and is softer and less aggressive than their blue claymagic bar (IMO). Not a great bargain at $17/ bar in my book.

The clay and lube package they sell at Autozone is definitely not a 200 gram bar. And i dont bother buying lube. I jsut make my own or use quick detailer.

Has anybody tried the Danase clay bars? how are they?

I called all the Auto Zones near me and they all don't carry it. I bought some mothers. It will get me though the weekend but I would like to find a good supplier. I appreciate everyones help. I'm not going to be single minded "Clay Magic" and try some of your suggestions. Thanx again.

Anyone ever tried to figure out what the clay is? I'll admit I've tried every type of clay I could get my hands on to find a cheaper source. My latest polyclay arrived today and didn't work lol. Sure is a pretty pink color though. Has to be something out there cheaper. 200 grams for 8-10 dollars is what I think it should cost. Any places selling cases cheap?

My search for cheaper clay led me back to this forum and then out to detailplus. 5 or more 8oz bars 9.95 each. Called and they are divided into 2 4oz bars. Anyone use them?
